Some matters are referred to outside attorneys upon the consent and agreement of the client. In the event that your claim or appeal is referred to an outside law firm, the VLC will still be involved in the matter but will not be directly responsible for handling the matter nor will the VLC supervise the handling attorney. Any matters referred will be to an attorney or law firm experienced in handling appeals of denied service-connected connected disability claims before the Department of Veterans Affairs (“DVA”) and the Board of Veterans Appeals (“BVA”).
